Through outdoor adventures, Oregon Adventure Ministries seeks to speak encouragement, give guidance, and discover the Kingdom of Heaven in the lives of our guests.

Our Mission

To help us discover our place in leadership, in life and in the church.

our Vision

To be a ministry that connects people with God and each other through adventure and nature.

Our history

Oregon Adventure Ministries (OAM) grew out of a passion to teach men about the outdoors, adventure, and Jesus.

An avid outdoorsman all his life, Steve Pruitt (founder) started a men’s rafting ministry at Sunset Presbyterian Church in 2004. The first person he ever trained to guide to help in the ministry was Jerry Nesseth (Executive Director). Through the years Jerry and Steve learned how to lead groups in a series of activities - white water rafting, hiking, target shooting, archery and camping.

In 2015 Steve and Jerry transitioned the company to be called Oregon Adventure Ministries. A ministry that maintains a focus on the same outdoor activities and became a certified, licensed, and insured whitewater guide service with the Oregon State Marine Board, as well as establishing our status as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. OAM is one of the premier outfitter guide companies in Oregon.

OAM’s desire is to serve God by using His creation to impact the lives of those we serve. Therefore, we provide adventures in nature of different lengths to rid distraction and encounter God and each other in new ways. We provide all equipment, food, transportation and guides to create an environment to let God speak and to build friendships. Whatever kind of trip you are looking for, give us an opportunity to make it a memorable and life changing trip.

We want to serve you by customizing trips that will fit your needs and have lasting impact on you and your group.
